Argyll Free Range Eggs are produced on Balvicar Farm, Isle of Seil. It is a small family farm - 50 hectares - with Shetland Cheviot breeding ewes, Blue Grey succler cows and Hyline Free Range hens. Flo and Ewen Macaskill are the third generation farming Balvicar. The layers are split into flocks of no more than 1000 and range freely. They are triple vaccinated and immunised against Salmonella infection throughout their laying period and are tested at 15 week intervals by the Veterinary Laboratories Agency. Argyll Free Range Eggs have SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) certification.
