Handmade Artisan Chocolates made with love in the Highland Capital of Inverness. Chocolate as nature intended with no artificial colours or preservatives added. Our chocolates are all gluten free, wheat free and egg free. We mainly use Belcolade chocolate and our dark chocolate is also dairy free. With cocoa solids of 55%, our dark chocolate is also popular with both children and adults. Our dark chocolate is also suitable for vegans. Our chocolates are perfect for an indulgent treat but also lovely for a special, local gift for family and friends. Belcolade Chocolate:-The cacao process begins with the careful selection of ingredients, which is why Belcolade have developed long-term relationships with their suppliers. This allows them to ensure consistently high quality. They apply strict criteria when it comes to the origin of the cacoa beans. They source only the best quality, so that we can make superior tasting chocolate. The cocoa beans come from three continents: South and Central America, Africa and Asia. Each country has its own specialties, cocoa varieties and flavours. Belcolade works together with specially selected farmer cooperatives using the same harvest and post-harvest processes. We sourced many different types of chocolate but have found Belcolade to be consistently the best, both to temper and for it's delicious taste! Where it began:- Debbie has a Hotel Management background and worked in the hotel industry for many years. Creativity and a love of all things chocolate led her to start a small chocolate business in South West Scotland in early 2000. 'Galloway Chocolates' ran until 2003. Family life then took priority until moving to the Highlands to live closer to her parents, she was able to start up her dream again, this time named The Chocolate Place'. With the support of husband Andrew, 'the Chocolate Place' shop opened on Chapel Street, Inverness in 2013. In August 2015 however it was decided to give up the shop and move the business on in other ways and we now have a chocolate kitchen at our home where Debbie is able to create to her hearts content! Chocolate is such a fantastic & versatile commodity. Debbie looks forward very much to meeting you at the Food AssemblyHub!
